I know its been a few months since I've published one of these, but I'm back, and a schedule has been made! Woot, let's jump right in!

The Raymond Chandler Map of LA - As September came and went so did the first month of a new school year. This semester I am taking an intro to Fiction Writing class and have the pleasure of reading The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler. Coincidentally, I ran across this article with a lovely graphic representation of Chandler's LA. If you're a noir lover or a mystery lover consider giving the book a read and make sure to check out the nifty map!

Indie Bookstores Aren't Dead - As a child watching Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail, I grew up longing for the smell of books neatly lined up on their corresponding shelves. I was a bookshop rat back when there were still bookshops and these days there's a small one around the corner from me that I do some of my best editing in with a warm cup of coffee in hand. Thanks to some of the larger bookstores closing in recent years, there is more room for the little guy to bounce back and reclaim some of their former glory.
