"Overwhelmed" - Review

A few days ago I finished, Overwhelmed by Marita A. Hansen.  It was sexy, heart-wrenching and full of action!  I received this book as part of an ARC review from the author for honest review prior to the book's release date.  The book is now out and available for purchase (links below).  If you want to see my review on goodreads you can check that out too.

4 stars
Series: Yes, book 1 of "Blurred Lines"
Characters: Well written and most were easy to connect with.
Setting: Almost non-existent descriptions, but unnoticeable.
Sex: Lots of it. (m/f - m/m/f - m/f/f - m/m/f/f)

Kelly is a mother of two, a wife to her high school sweetheart and a self published author.  Her days are filled with trying to make everyone else's lives better and her writing seems to fill that role for herself.  The only problem is her husband doesn't agree.  Tom thinks she loves it more than him and decides to take her to a sex club to rekindle their love life.  What he didn't bargain for was Eric, a man who is willing to support Kelly and her writing and will stop a nothing to have her.
The erotic parts of this story were well written and well balanced by the drama scenes sprinkled throughout.  However, the main drama revolving around the family felt a bit forced and out of place at times.  I say this because the fulfilling nuggets of drama between Nicky (the daughter) and Kelly were so wonderfully written and I would have almost trades some of the crazy sex scenes for more family interactions, I just wanted more.

The best aspect of this book, all the POV chapters.  Most were from Kelly, but some sections were from Tom, a few from Eric, and some were flashbacks reinforcing Tom/Kelly's relationship starting with day one.  These small glimmers into the minds of all of the main characters helped me as the reader not pre-judge but really get to know the characters and want to read further.

Recommendation: Yes, read it.  I enjoyed it and was thrilled to be able to participate in its review process.
