Yay! We've reached 10,000 words! WOOT! Also, here's the latest snippet I've written and it's the moment we've all been waiting for; Onnie finds out about the bookshop! Enjoy! :-) “...ah sure thing Rebecca, one sec.” Moving the phone away from her ear she looked at Gabriel holding the phone out. “She wants to talk to you.” “I bet she does. Thanks.” Gabriel took the phone and turned around to face away from Onnie. “Hi Bec. Yeah we’ve talked. No. I don’t think so.” Figuring it was none of her buisness Onnie bent down to retrive the cap to her water bottle she’d dropped when the phone rang. Picking up the cap she looked at the shelf that was now eye level in front of her. The black leather bound book she’d moved when looking for Grandfather’s tea was still sitting there. She rotated it around while taking another sip of her water and checked the binding. Nothing. Damn. “Yes, Bec. You don’t have to tell me that. I know! She has a right to know.” Momentarily distracted and slightly puzzled by the conversation taking place on the phone in front of her, she stood up bringing the book with her. She placed her water bottle down on the counter and flipped through the pages casually. Most of the pages were blank or in another language she wasn’t able to read though it looked similar to Latin. Gabriel turned around to face Onnie again and leaned on one arm on the counter. “You’re right I don’t understand, but how is that his right?” He focused on Onnie as she shrugged and offered the book in her hand to him. As he reached out to take it from her Rebecca shouted, “NO!” But it was too late. With both their hands now in contact with the black leather book the world went quiet. Onnie looked up into Gabriel’s deep green eyes and once they locked the world exploded around them. Onnie was flung backwards only to hit a shelf and crumple to the floor in a heap. Likewise with a grunt Gabriel was flung backwards down the center aisle and onto his back. The store phone rolled out of his hand.
