Daily Dose of Wisdom LXXXVII

In honor of an end to a lovely spring break filled with nothing but work, self betterment and relaxing activities, lets have an inspiration party!

Thanks for sticking by me!

Read a book....

Mr. Logan Patricks has finished the first draft of his second novel, Penumbra.

If you have yet to read Semblance, you should.

Don't believe me?
Here's my review.

Find comfort in those around you...

Listen to the words of others...

"Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on."
Louis L'Amour
Best known for his Western novels, author Louis L'Amour (born March 22, 1908) traveled the globe in his youth, sometimes as a merchant seaman, sometimes as a professional boxer (he later coached several Golden Gloves teams), and sometimes just hopping freight trains.

Get out and live you life...

Daily Dose of Wisdom - LXXXVI

It has been 10 weeks of the Spring Digipen semester, but hey guess what?  We made it.  This week is Spring Break.  Go do something fun, something not related to homework, something...unexpected.  Make a bird house, plant a garden or take a nap under a tree.  There's a great big world out there outside those school walls.  Go see some of it.  And remember...
“If you're reading this...
Congratulations, you're alive.
If that's not something to smile about,
then I don't know what is.”

― Chad Sugg, Monsters Under Your Head

It's been a rough few weeks with both of us having massive crunch mode at work and with school (for me).  But next week is spring break and I have set a goal to get back into reading and writing.  I hope it pans out as I am really missing my imaginary friends lately.  Who knew they would become such an important part of my life so quickly.

In spite of crunch we have spent and hour or two a night together doing something fun.  (this week it's the new Robert Jordan book!!!!)  Always remember to be grateful for what you have.

Love you all, thanks for the continued support everyone!
You know you're in love........ When no matter how much time you spend with him, you still miss him every time he leaves.

Everyone has a sense of wonder about the world.
A child wants to touch the shiny plastic toy.  The cat wants to chase the strange flying black bugs. The grandparent wants to watch their grandchildren get married.  The couple wants to look at each other and see love in their eyes.
Wonder is a part of life and in order to wonder we must try something new, see something breathtaking, or feel something we have forgotten to feel. The trick to wondering is not to force it, just live your life with eyes wide open and you will undoubtedly find wonder.
Just remember...
Picture
The less you reveal, the more people can wonder.
Wonder is good for the soul.  Go out and experience something.

"Stopping by Woods..." DDW - LXXXII

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

"Please Bury Me in the Library" - DDW LXXXI

My Gram sent me this poem very many years ago in one of her written letters in her beautifully elegant handwriting. I still have that paper, now all faded and yellowed.  It holds a special place for me.  It proved that there were others like me out there, and for a ten year-old, that's extremely important.

So now i'll share it with you so that you too know... you're not alone.

Please Bury Me in the Library
by Patrick Lewis

Please bury me in the Library
In the clean, well-lighted stacks
Old Novels, History, Poetry,
Right next to the paperbacks

Where the Kids' Books dance
With True Romance
And the Dictionary dozes.
Please bury me in the library
With a dozen long-stemmed proses.

Why back by a rack of Magazines,
I won't be sad too often,
If they bury me in the library
With Bookworms in my coffin.

DDW - La Belle Musique

Daily Dose of Wisdom LXXVIII

Today's "wisdom" is more in the form of inspiration.  A few weeks ago I found a fantastic YouTube channel, La Belle Musique, where they remix a multitude of songs into new genre spaces.

An example being "No Diggity" is now a smooth easy listening song that really is nothing like its parentage.
I have liked a few of my favorites below but you really can't go wrong listening to any of their stuff, it's all fantastic to work/write to.

Enjoy.
