Laucian laughed and crossed the room, bending to pull off her shoes and socks one by one. “If this situation had been different that would have been a lovely site to come home too.” He gently rubbed her bare feet earning himself a moan of approval.
Fiction Friday 04:
Prompt: Write about the assassination of JFK in the style of speaking aloud with a stranger.
While getting my hair done, the woman next to me was speaking very loudly about a recent topic.
“I don’t know why anyone would do such a thing, I mean, he was such a good man.”
I interject. “Just because he was a good man does not make him loved by all. Someone obviously disagreed with you.”
“Well that’s absurd.”
“The taking of a life always is.”
The woman’s face softens, “You know I met him once.”
“He’d come round the university to give a talk of some sort. Smartly dressed, dreamy smile.”
“Is that so. Did you get to speak with him much?”
“Oh, heavens no.”
“But he sure was charming.”
“I bet he was, what was he talking about?”
She looks at me confused. “What do you mean?”
“What was his topic?”
“Why would I know that? I wasn’t there to hear him speak.”
