Late Friday night I slaved away in front of my computer and with great excitement I can say I have officially finished the first draft of my first novel. Woot!
Writing is something I have wanted to do since I was little and even when I did not have he courage to speak about it openly it was always in the back of my mind. I have never been more proud of myself and I am delighted to share this momentous occasion with you.
I have updated the Keepers Conundrum page with a bit more content and some new fancy progress bars (html programming for the win!). You'll notice that the page count is still in progress even though v1 is complete. I have learned through this progress that I tend to write the story bumps and arcs and gloss over the details in v1. I've been taking notes and writing snippets of needed scenes and v2 is where I will be bulking up the book and fleshing out broke plot lines and filling in holes.
I'll be the first to admit I've got a lot of work ahead of me but I'm excited and ready to write.
Also stay tuned for some original artwork for KC, one of the perks about going to art school is I have tons of friends willing to help out.

January 26th, 1958: Happy 56th birthday, Ellen DeGeneres! She is best known for being a talk show host (and a dancing fool!), but in her stand-up days she was also the first female comedian to be invited to sit on the couch and chat Johnny Carson—a rare honor.
Happy Friday everyone!
I don't know about you but Friday's are the best day of the week in my world. Friday is writing day! After I finish up working for a few hours I get to plunge straight into writing for three full days! On the agenda for this weekend is finishing up the last chapter for Keeper's Conundrum and reaching that 50,000 word count. Then a full re-read of what's been written so far. So basically I have two tasks this weekend; writing and reading. Yup this weekend is going to be a long painful one...I don't think so.
I also have some good news, yesterday after much crossing out and re-writing I finished the first pass at the synopsis for KC. This has been posted on the Keeper's Conundrum page and also below. Give it a read and let me know what you think in the comment boxes provided.
Have a happy and safe weekend!
Onnie’s had it with her boring life of self created solitude. So when her Grandfather calls and asks her to move to Seattle to help him run his bookshop she can’t refuse the offer for adventure. But when Gabriel enters the bookshop Onnie is thrown into a world she had never imagined. Nothing is what it seems, magic exists and Onnie must leave her old life behind in order to survive. Here only hope is to learn to lean on those around her and to open her heart up to the impossible. But there is evil in the world and life is seldom simple or straight forward and Onnie and Gabriel must fight through the heartache to overcome it.
I've been doing this a lot lately, my fiancé will watch Yogscast, Direwolf20 or Top Gear and I'll just lay there and read.
I have the best life.

Hello and welcome to a new year!
You may be thinking, "but Eliza it's the 16th of January, we've been back... January is almost half over." Well, yes... you are correct but lots has been happening around here and changing these past few weeks. So here's a quick blog update on the coming and goings of me, Onnie and Keeper's Conundrum over all.
Onnie is back! I know it's been a few weeks and my word count has stagnated, but there's some good news. Friday afternoons I have carved out a chunk of time to focus on KC and I hope to add more time throughout the week to that. While I know only one afternoon does not sound like a lot please remember I am a full time student working on my BFA and I have a few jobs on top of that. I will be focusing as much time as I can possibly spare on writing.
It took my first ever Holiday vacation from work this year. When planing I assumed that I was going to be alone most of the two weeks due to family having to work. Luckily, that did not turn out to be the case. Instead I spent most of my time crafting (check out Silencing the Elephant) and playing games with family. That being said, family is important and I am grateful for the time I was given.
Over all this semester is going to be organized differently than the past one and as with any situation I will be working the kinks out as it progresses.
As always, thanks for the support!
