Yipes Inevitable was a good read… and guess what, there are two more! Yup, Angela Graham wrote a trilogy, (and all three follow Logan and Cassandra *gasp awe*) and actually it has a novella before book one as well, so bonus there. This was another diamond hidden in BookBub’s daily emails and every time I find another one, I am happy I signed up. [goodreads review]
Cassandra is madly in love with her boyfriend, but when she finds him being unfaithful, she cuts her losses and moves on. Utilizing a house left to her by her grandparents, Cassandra puts herself back together and moves on with her life. Until the next door neighbors move in. The first time she sees Logan she’s smitten and her lust is out of control, but all signs point to him being taken and blessed with the life she’s always wanted.
This is one of those books filled with interesting and dynamic characters, all different and all worthy of love or hate. Cassandra is a very cheeky woman, full of spirit and has a playful attitude that is perfect for her career as an elementary school teacher. When she meets her new next door neighbor’s son, Oliver, my heart melted. The scenes with Oliver were amazing, his child innocence and the love his father obviously has for him just pours from the pages and makes your heart ache. Sadly, all be it with good reason, Cassandra is also extremely jaded and often downright judgy of Logan and his life choices, thankfully she keeps is out of the way when it comes to Oliver, because if not, it would have been a deal breaker on finishing the book. Logan is a romantic lead along the vein of Christian Grey; overbearing, protective, and lacks any concept of boundaries. When paired with Cassandra’s personality it makes their interactions, tense and edgy, but the good moments… they rock!
Then there’s the best friend… ug. The relationship that Hilary has with Cassandra is strange, pushy, mutually loving, but self-serving. Hilary is so focused on what she thinks her friend needs that she almost completely ignores what she wants and it takes a nasty turn for the worst. As far as book friends go, Hilary needs some lessons.
Thankfully this story is not of the intsa-love variety and as the book came to a close and the UBER MEGA cliff hanger happened I just had to rush to buy the second one (which I read that night).
